Sharena had the privilege of speaking at the Leeds Football Club Awards, where she passionately highlighted vital role of creative writing. Her insights beautifully demonstrated how it enhances and fosters connection, inspiring to truly appreciate the transformative power of words.

Through Sharena’s work with the West Yorkshire Young Poets Laureates, one of the young poets interviewed  Jacqueline Wilson. Jacqueline also received a copy of SHE, recognising Sharena’s contribution to poetry and youth mentorship.

Sharena appeared When the CBeebies poetry roadshow visited Bradford, 

Sharena toured with the WOW Bus, leading poetry workshops for women and girls across communities creating spaces for voices to be heard and honoured.”

“Sharena was honoured to meet acclaimed poet John Agard, whose generosity and insight offered deep inspiration. He received a copy of Shhhhhhhh, recognising her growing contribution to poetry.”

An image of Sharena, first taken at a vigil she created in memory of Sabina Nessa, was later reimagined for the project You Heard Us. The work was featured on the University of Bradford wall, amplifying women’s voices through art and activism.
